Meet the Teachers
JESS ACKERSON
Ever since a young age when her grandfather put her first set Prismacolor Pencils in her hands, Jess has been an artist and maker. A wanderer for many years, she eventually majored in Printmaking at Maine College of Art. She makes wood and linoleum relief prints in her home studio and has avidly dived into the rabbit hole of fiber arts. She considers making things to be her superpower and would like to empower others to make the life they dream of.
JULIA CSANKO
Julia was born and raised to a NYC Art Teacher who always brought art into her life. She did her first oil painting when she was in 1st grade and has been living life on the creative side ever since. She was the Art Coordinator for The Boys and Girls Club in Lake Tahoe, CA where she discovered the joy of inspiring others to explore their own creativity. While primarily a painter and printmaker, she also sews and is learning to knit. Basically, she's down for making anything!

BRITTANY STERNBERG
Brittany, aka Grasshopper, first fell in love with teaching crafts at Lake Clear Girl Scout Camp. She attended SUNY Brockport where she majored in B&W Photography and also delighted in Arts for Children and Gallery Management. Many of the magical things she crafts are for children: animal letter shadow boxes, dollhouses and fantastic costumes. ADK ArtRise began taking shape just as Brittany made a pledge to herself to get MORE ART in her life again. She wants to help you do the same!
