Service Description

This class will teach participants the basics of hand sewing as they create their very own t-shirt. From pattern cutting to straight stitch and back stitch, making simple clothing is within everyone's reach! And no matter what age you are, there's nothing quite as satisfying as saying "I made it myself!" when people compliment you on your shirt! We will have several kinds of jersey fabric available to choose from so that you're shirt is truly one of a kind! Before class starts, we will send out emails with very clear instructions asking for each participant's measurements and fit preference so that paper patterns are precut and ready to transfer onto our fabric the first day of class. Children ages 5 and 6 are welcome to attend but are required to be accompanied by an adult helper. The one on one assistance helps them with their sewing and focus as well as giving them a knowledgeable support person when they sew at home. Please note that this is a mixed age class. Adults are welcome and will be working side by side younger children, which creates a really lovely sense of community as we create our own clothing!
